It’s been over a year that I’ve tried the online dating sites. I have profiles on eHarmony, OkCupid, Tinder, Zoosk and Match. My conclusion of online dating is that the guys on these sites are the ones we avoid. The ones that have issues, are head cases or players…lol. Well, at least, these are the only guys I kept meeting.
Annoyed with not being able to find The One or just a sane guy online, I decided it’s time to search in the real world for Mr. Right. After discovering, I had lost my game and I was rusty with the flirt. From being married, I had acquired bad habits, anti-social and forgot how to be verbally alluring. In order to get my game back, I have taken the David Wygant challenge and I am doing the 30 day flirt.
I came home from work this morning and put on something comfy, but I felt sexy in it. One of the places I decided I would be comfortable flirting with guys is Starbucks. Off I went to get a veinte Chai Tea skinny Latte. Around 8:30 a.m. on a Wednesday morning, I walk into Starbucks silencing announcing, “HERE I AM, LOOK AT ME,” by doing the grand entrance, stop at my mark, smile and look around.
And, there are no guys.
Well, no one I would want to flirt with. As I looked around, I saw female after female after female. OH, wait, A GUY! He’s kinda cute. And, I see muscles. Bonus! Wait, what was that? Is that a mullet? Aaaannnnd, I lose interest.
As I waited for my Chai Tea skinny Latte, I thought, well, I’ll make the most of the Day One Flirt and stared at Mullet Man, because he was the only potential male to practice getting my game back. His attention was on his computer. He didn’t look up once.
This is the American Way. We are sexually closed. We are consumed by our iPhones, iPads, and forgot how to be social beings.
I walked out of Starbucks reviewing my first day flirt. The only practice I got was with the Starbucks barista by buying a croissant and asking questions about which one was better, smiling, batting my fake lashes and looking at him like he was the delicious croissant.
Lesson learned: Try a different Starbucks where there will be many guys and different time cuz everyone’s at work at the time I was doing my flirt.
